Whilst psychology provides a tangible
way to understand and manipulate mental activity and behaviour, all
mental and bodily functions are controlled by the brain and are the
result of electrical and chemical changes within this central
processing unit.
The full function and capability of the
human brain is still not completely understood, but over many years
a remarkable amount has been discovered.
The complexities of the human body are
astonishing. The brain (through various bodily sensors) takes in
information, processes it and initiates a response - mental and
physiological. Each response occasions an electrical or biochemical
change affecting bodily function, some of which can in turn further
affect brain function.
In an attempt to remain relevant we will
take a look at the general affects on the body and brain where -
mood affects chemistry
and chemistry affects mood
